Filmdirector Ron Howard (Appollo 13) on the move shooting the movie "Rush" with Daniel Bruhl as Niki Lauda and Chris Hemsworth as James Hunt playing for the reconstructuion of the Formula 1-season 1976 when Lauda had his heavy crash at Nurburgring.
They are shooting pretty much material also at the Rhineland-area and here at Cologne, Germany. It is pretty close to the Nurburgring, just about one hour to the Ring.

I have just found that Rob Austin will play - most drive - as Brett Lunger in Surtees Ford, the car which crashed into Lauda's Ferrari and made it to a fireball.
The Surtees Ford is restored in its original Campari colours — is now owned by Rob’s dad Richard and raced in historic events by Austin Jnr.

Just a reminder: Prepare for great pics of the race-shooting today at Snetterton with spectators! They should simulate the last race at Fuji, Japan '76 with rainy conditions when Hunt finished the race instead of Lauda who quits the race, because for Lauda it gots too dangerous in those wet conditions. Hunt won the championship there with an advance of just one point.

Jochen Mass - German driver and team-mate of James Hunt in '76 is one of the last remaining real drivers that will be in the movie "Rush". He just caught up with the team last weekend. The movie should start in cinemas about the very beginning of next year (Jan/Feb 2013), Germany release should be March.
