Default The big bmp problem

Hi, I'm back after beeing away a bit and I'm back.(pc problems)

I got a fresh new install on and I'm using the latest version 7 of Internet explorer on Win XP pro.
Any file on the photo exchange forum I try to save comes out as BMP and untitled.

Naming the files and having to recompress them is time consuming and annoying. And leaving
HQ pics at 25 megs each on the hard drive is out of the question. (The ratio is near 25 to 1 meaning
100 pics at 500k is 50 megs in jpeg to 2.5 gigs for bmp!) =o

I do not have similar problems with any other boards or anywhere else on the net for that matter; only here.
If this problem is community wide, this would seriously prevent the blooming of the flow of members
coming in and out of this forum.

This little problem is very frustrating and if you have any advice I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

Thank you for bringing this up. I am not quite sure when this happened but I do not think it was at the start of the "new" website? I think it was some time after? I could not agree more!

I don't recall exactly when but I know it's on the new version of the site that I have the problem.
Not sure if it worked properly when the transfer occured or right after some adjustments that were made.

We really need this fixed for the community though if we want better traffic here

Thx for replying so fast!

I apologize for the delay in responding. This appears to be an issue specific to the latest versions of Internet Explorer. We are trying to identify the exact cause but can make no guarantees that there is a viable solution that can be implemented on our end. If you use Firefox everything works as it should.

Have not checked more yet. Hopefully admin is working out the problem?

Hey all,

As I work in the IT field I see this day in, day out and it's not just this site...more and more we are seeing one thing work in Firefox only to fail in Explorer. Our company's use of Explorer is hanging by a thread because it seems Firefox is taking over. I'm even on Firefox as we speak and also on it at home. I have a Mac and can no longer use Safari.

Microsoft address this issue but to be honest I followed the steps and it still wasn't fixed. I didn't try the last option to move your temporary internet folder as that's too much of a pain for me. It may work.

I think it's a Firefox conspiracy!
